Australia vs India 2018: 1st Test – Australia’s Predicted XI
With only one day to go for the first of the four-match Border-Gavaskar Test series to commence, the preparations for both the teams are in full swing. Although Australia didn’t have the desired results since the ball-tampering scandal, they are a tough nut to crack at home soil. Thus, they will aim to dominate India when the first Test begins from December 6 (Thursday).

However, the hosts will miss the service of Steven Smith and David Warner due to bans. As a result, the batting unit looks unsettled, however, they have the required firepower in their ranks to give a tough time to the Indian bowlers. The young left-handed batsman, Marcus Harris is likely to make his debut for the Baggy Green. He has scored heavily in the domestic cricket and will look to continue it in the international arena.
A regular opener in the limited-formats, Aaron Finch is likely to open in the longer formats of the game as well. He did reasonably well against Pakistan by knocking fifties to his name in the UAE. However, the team management would hope him deliver the goods against India as well.

The stylish southpaw Usman Khawaja will take the crucial number three role for Australia. He is in a solid nick and can make the difference in the result as well. However, it would be interesting to see how Usman Khawaja would cope up the Indian bowlers.
Shaun Marsh has a lot of experience behind his back and will have to lead the batting unit in the absence of Steven Smith and David Warner. Although he had a poor series against Pakistan, Marsh will look to hit the right tracks against India.
