Former Australian gun fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has backed Shaun Marsh to come good in the forthcoming series against India. Marsh who wasn’t in the best of forms in the series against Pakistan finally struck back his form in the JLT Sheffield Shield. The flamboyant southpaw batsman scored a fine knock of 163 for his domestic team, Western Australia.

Thus, the stylish batsman helped his team chase down the target of 313 in the fourth innings. Subsequently, Western Australia was able to win by five wickets against Southern Australia. Furthermore, Marsh had scored a majestic knock of 106 in the final ODI against South Africa.

However, his performance had gone in vain as Australia had lost the match and thus the series 2-1. Therefore, this performance must have added a shot in the arm to Shaun’s arm ahead of the series against India.

Meanwhile, former Australian fast bowler Geoff Lawson asked Cricket Australia to move on from Marsh brothers as their form was not good in the two-match series against Pakistan. Thus, Mitchell Johnson gave a reply to the post of Western Australia. Johnson said it is time to back the players, especially who have been part of the team in the past.

Australia’s confidence is low and it is crucial for players like Shaun Marsh to bat with responsibility. In fact, there were reports that Marsh could be overlooked for selection after his dry patch against Pakistan. However, Marsh has made a strong case for himself after scoring twin centuries.

Mitchell Johnson took to Twitter to share his thoughts. The post read, “Well done Shaun Marsh on another 100. Apparently it’s time to move on, yep move on to the test series against India. Let’s start backing the players picked especially past players of the game”.
