India is preparing for the tour to Australia as they will play three-match T20I series before participating in the grueling four-test matches. Indian head coach Ravi Shastri believes Virat Kohli is more mature than the previous Australia tour. Kohli was in fine form on the Australia tour of 2014 as he had scored 692 runs.
In fact, the captain of India has been in the form of his life and looks unstoppable. He is at his best and is doing a fine job for the nation.
Kohli will once again look to come up with a solid performance.
Virat Kohli had scored 692 runs with four centuries and one fifty in his previous tour to Australia. Shastri believes Kohli will look to repeat the same kind of performance on this tour.
“He loves coming to Australia. He is passionate about his game. The pitches here suit his style of play and once you’ve done well in this part of the world, you always want to come out and do well again,” Ravi Shastri said of Kohli during the team’s first practice session at the GABBA. “It’s a great place to play cricket. They’ve played hard and the sporting public appreciates tough and challenging cricket.”
Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri believes Virat Kohli has matured in the last four years. Kohli always liked taking the bulls by its horns and Shastri feels the captaincy responsibilities has helped Kohli.
“He is a professional. He’s matured than what you saw him four years ago. Since then, he has captained the side. That alone comes with a tag of responsibility, which has fit well on his shoulders and he’s adjusted extremely well. But he will not take his foot off the pedal, that’s for sure,” Ravi Shastri added.
Virat Kohli is in prolific form, and he recently achieved the feat of scoring fastest 10,000 ODI runs. He was also the Man of the series in the recently concluded series against the Windies. India will tour to Australia for three T20Is, four Tests and three ODIs.
