Indian National Cricket team pacer Umesh Yadav provided his team with the first breakthrough of the morning on day two with a perfect beauty to dismiss Pat Cummins during the second Test against Australia at Perth.
Meanwhile, starting the day on 277 for six, Cummins along with skipper Tim Paine showed enough grit to extend the first innings score. The duo showed temperament against a potent line-up to bring up the 300 runs for Australia. This is the first time in the last seven innings, the hosts have managed to scale the 300-run mark. In addition to, the duo also brought their fifty-run stand for the seventh wicket.
However, India also had their fair share of chances as KL Rahul missed an easy runout opportunity. Although Virat Kohli brought Jasprit Bumrah a little late, he poised questions right in his first over. He went past the bat thrice in his opening over. The visitors finally had their luck when Umesh Yadav castled the wicket of Pat Cummins with a ripper.
It was the last ball of the 105th over, and Yadav delivered an absolute peach of a delivery. India needed some kind of special effort to break the 69-run partnership. The ball was on a goodish length, Cummins was fatally caught in the crease – with feet rooted. It just held it’s line after pitching, Cummins was playing for the in-dipper, and it beats the outside edge to kiss the off-stump.
