Australian all-rounder, Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against Pakistan due to an injury, while seam bowler Mitchell Starc and batsman Chris Lynn remains doubtful for the next One-Dayer at Perth also. However, Peter Handscomb has been roped as the replacement for Chris Lynn.
Lynn, who was selected for his impressive run in the Big Bash League, suffered a bulging disc in his neck and will now return to his native place, Brisbane to see a specialist, where his availability for the next two games will be decided.
Mitchell Starc, who in his ten overs took two wickets for 45 runs at MCG, will be resting and won’t be flying with the squad for the third ODI but would rather join them for the fourth and fifth One Dayer.
Marsh, who was brought in the playing eleven of the second One Dayer, was earlier found complaining about some pain his shoulder and thus would be kept out of the series to ignore any further bruises. Marsh’s replacement is expected to be out on Monday ahead of the third ODI, which starts on January 19.
On Sunday, Cricket Australia announced the 16-member squad to face India in four-match series starting February 23.
