Australia vs Pakistan 2016/17: Peter Handscomb To Make His ODI Debut At Perth 1

Peter Handscomb will make his ODI debut on Thursday, in the third game of the five-match series against Pakistan at Perth. He’ll replace Mitchell Marsh, who has been ruled out of the ODI series due to a shoulder injury.

Handscomb, who made his international debut in the Tests against South Africa last year, currently has an average of 99.75 in the longest format of the game. He has played 31 List A matches in which the right-handed batsman has scored 1130 runs at an average of 31.38, with five half-centuries to his name. He is yet to touch the three-figure mark in the List A format.

Along with Handscomb, Australia have made one more change to their playing XI by bringing in Billy Stanlake in place of Mitchell Starc, who has been rested for this game. Stanlake made his ODI debut in the first match at Brisbane.

Meanwhile, Chris Lynn has been ruled out of the series due to a neck injury. He made his debut in the first game of the series but missed the second ODI and he’ll also miss the Big Bash League and the ODI series against New Zealand, starting January 30.

As for the ongoing Australia-Pakistan series, the hosts, after losing the second game, will look to make a comeback whereas the Men in Green will look to continue their winning momentum.
