Australia Women’s Cricket team fast bowler Megan Schutt has married her longtime partner Jess Holyoake earlier today. Schutt, who has been open about her relationship described it as the best day of her life.
Schutt, who is currently the top-ranked T20I bowlers has been a great servant of Australian cricket. She has played 51 ODIs and 47 T20Is for the Aussies picking 75 and 57 wickets respectively and an outstanding economy rate. Megan Schutt is also in the fourth spot in the ICC ODI Players Ranking for bowlers. The 26-year-old Schutt has been very vocal about policies regarding women’s in various sports. She is currently engaging with Cricket Australia to improve their policies. She said that it is a great feeling to take part in this type of conversation is a great feeling.
“I know it’s a long time coming, but to be involved in those conversations, to have input to say, ‘That could possibly affect me in the future’, is really cool and I’m not sure everyone has had that in the past,” she told AAP.
Megan Schutt was a part of the 2013 ICC World Cup-winning squad and appeared in all of Australia’s seven matches, claiming 15 wickets at an economy of 4.13. In 2015, she was also a part of the Australia team that went for an away Ashes tour. In March 2018, during the 2017–18 India women’s Tri-Nation Series, Schutt became the first bowler for Australia Women to take a hat-trick in WT20Is.
Following her marriage, Megan Schutt took to social media site Twitter to announce the news. She said that this is the best day of her life and she feels complete today. Also, she added that she feels herself to be lucky to tie the knot with her partner Jess Holyoake.
