Want to be a professional cricketer?
Former Pakistan great, Saqlain Mushtaq has claimed that Babar Azam is above Virat Kohli in modern-day cricket. Indian captain Virat Kohli is undeniably one of the greatest batsmen of his generation. Babar Azam, on the other hand, has also established himself as a world-class batsman in a short period.
This has led to comparisons being drawn between the two legendary batsmen of arch-rival nations. Kohli has scored more than 20,000 runs in international cricket so far, and although he might have had a rough patch recently, he seems to be racking up records for fun.
Now, Saqlain Mushtaq has weighed in the debate and revealed as to who he thinks is the better between the two and why does he think this way.
Babar Azam Edges Over Virat Kohli: Saqlain Mushtaq
“Both are great players, with a great technique, and are mentally very strong. They have the hunger and passion to score lots of runs,” said Mushtaq in an exclusive interview to Cricket Pakistan.
“Kohli is more aggressive while Babar is humble. Babar’s calmness gives him an edge over Virat Kohli if we look at what sports science teaches us. But comparing Babar with Kohli is unfair because the latter has been performing for a very long time, all over the world,” he added.
Virat Kohli Has Been On Top Of The Charts In The Last Decade
Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman in world cricket at the moment. He is racking up records for fun, and he is likely to reach the summit in this list in the coming times. The flamboyant Indian skipper has already smashed 70 international centuries so far and just seems to get better with days going by.
Kohli is now eighth on the list of the most runs scored by a batsman in international cricket. The Delhi-based star has a very long career ahead and the kind of form that he has been in, it seems a considerable possibility that Virat Kohli will lead this chart too.
