After Australia had finished day 3 of the first Test at Dhaka in a strong position while chasing 265, Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal had made it clear that anything was possible due to the unpredictability of the pitch and the southpaw was proved totally right as the hosts beat Australia by 20 runs to register their first win over the team from Down Under. Shakib Al Hasan starred with the ball, taking 5 wickets to end the match with 10 for 153.
Resuming the day on a commanding 109 for 2, David Warner and Steve Smith set the visitors on the path of victory by adding 49 runs more before the latter’s dismissal for a well-made 112 triggered a collapse. 13 runs after Warner’s departure, captain Smith returned to the pavilion after edging behind off Shakib Al Hasan. Taijul Islam then struck twice, removing the dangerous Peter Handscomb (15) and Ashton Agar (2) while Shakib sent back Matthew Wade (4) to leave the visitors reeling at 195 for 7. Australia walked into the lunch break on 199 for 7 with their biggest hope Glenn Maxwell unbeaten on 14 and needing 66 runs more to maintain its 100 percent record against the hosts in Tests.
Lunch Day 3, Australia still need 66 runs to win but with only three wickets remaining. #BANvAUS

However, Shakib all but sealed Australia’s fortunes by castling Maxwell on the very first ball after lunch. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon then revived Australia’s hopes by adding 29 runs for the ninth wicket but it all ended when the latter was sent back by Mehidy Hasan for 12.
A reminder that Australia haven't chased down 250+ to win a Test since Pat Cummins hit the winning runs on debut vs SA in 2011… #BANvAUS pic.twitter.com/PW5wz4x6Ud

Cummins tried to keep Australia in the match by hitting Mehidy Hasan for two big sixes but Islam quashed his hopes by sending back Josh Hazlewood to fire the home side to a monumental win.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the match:

Australia play a confident game, anywhere. That for some reason is replaced by fear of failure game in Asia. Mindset got to change.

Australia throwing it away after Warner's brilliant hundred.

101* out of team's 143 on a turning pitch in the last innings. This has to be Warner's best Test knock in the subcontinent. #BANvAUS
— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) August 30, 2017
Sensational century by Warner all things considered. Half hour more of him in the middle and Aus should be pulling off an upset win
