BAN vs AUS 2017: Bangladesh to Pick Squad for the First Test on 19th August
Bangladesh will begin their season against the mighty Australians at home from 27th August 2017. Bangladesh last played a Test match against Sri Lanka in March which was also their 100th Tests in international cricket. The visitors defeated the Lankans at their home in their 100th Test match.
Bangladesh is returning to international cricket after the Champions Trophy where they reached the last four stage for the very first time.
Bangladesh has been on the rise in the international front in the recent times and would like to continue with their improvement and try to give some fight to the Australians who are travelling to Bangladesh for a Test series after 2006.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on their official website announced that they would announce the squad for the first test match on 19th August. The Test is scheduled to begin on 27th August which will be played in Mirpur.
Bangladesh hired the services of the legendary Courtney Walsh in 2016 as their bowling coach and now would be looking forward to upsetting the Australians under his guiding.
Australia, on the other hand, is also starting their season with this tour to the subcontinent. The Australian team failed to reach the knockout stages of the Champions Trophy and will be looking forward to getting their combinations in this series and prepare well for the upcoming Ashes series later this year.
Australia announced their squad on 13th August and left for Dhaka on Friday. They will play a two-day warm-up match against the Bangladesh president’s XI from 22nd August. Australia will be without the services of their prime pace bowler Mitchell Starc due to a foot injury.
Usman Khwaja and Ashton Agar are most likely to make a comeback to the Test side and would be looking forward to creating an impact in the team.
