Bangladesh defeated Australia for the first time in Tests since becoming a Test nation in 2000 on Wednesday. They defeated Australia by 20 runs courtesy Shakib Al-Hasan’s all round performance. Shakib took a fifer in both the innings plus a crucial 84 in the first innings. Bangladesh has had a dream run of late at their home. They defeated South Africa, followed by another victory over England before they stamped their authority on international arena by beating Australia. Although all these victories have come on their home grounds, their rise on the international front has been noticeable.
After this historic win over the Aussies, the Bangladeshi Boys deserved to celebrate and the way they did was quite unique. Taskin Ahmed posted a Video of the celebration on Facebook. In the video, some of the Bangladeshi players were seen beating a bench with their bats, while others were singing the team song ‘Amra Korbo Joy’.
The enthusiasm of the win could be clearly seen on the player’s faces. However, not everyone was happy with the way they were celebrating, as cricket equipment has to respected by all.
Here is the celebration of Bangladesh cricket team:
Bangladesh played an exceptional brand of cricket to get one their biggest victory over a major Test playing nation. At one stage Australia were cruising towards victory with David Warner and Steve Smith at the crease. But Warner’s wicket evoked a batting collapse leaving Australia 20 runs short of victory.
Before the start of the series, Bangladeshi all rounder Shakib Al-Hasan’s said that they were unbeatable at home and they will win the series. After a win in the first Test, they cannot lose the series from here but they surely can win it. However, ruling out Australia has always back fired for the opposition and Steve Smith and his men will look forward to avenging their humiliating loss to the Bangladeshi’s in the second Test.
