Playing sweep shots on the turning pitches is a tried and tested method for the visiting batsmen in the subcontinent. Who can forget England’s Graham Gooch’s over-reliance on the sweep shots during the 1987 World Cup when he had scored a monumental 115 against India in the semifinal?
