The squad for the upcoming Sri Lankan tour of Bangladesh has been announced by the BCB on Tuesday. The brilliant performer of Bangladesh in ICC World Cup 2019 Shakib Al Hasan has given rest by the board while Mashrafe Mortaza will be leading the side once again.
Bangladesh will later this month become the first team to tour Sri Lanka since the deadly Easter attacks in which 258 people died, the cricket board said Monday. Bangladesh will play three ODIs on July 26, 28 and 31 at the Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a statement.
Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das gets a leave:
Anamul Haque and Taijul Islam have been included in the 14-member squad. Bangladesh’s tour comprises three ODIs, starting July 26. The remaining two will be played on July 28 and July 31, all to be played at the R Premadasa stadium in Colombo.

“Anamul has been performing consistently in domestic matches. He is doing well in both longer version and ODI format. We included him keeping all these in our mind. He is playing for A team and the High Performance head coach gave us positive feedback about him. Because of that we included him in the squad.”
Surprisingly, Abu Jayed, who was in the world cup squad but didn’t get the game was ousted from the squad. They brought a spinner in place of him, which will be a good option in Asian conditions. Taijul has always been a brilliant performer when the pitch assists spinners.

On the other hand, the hosts Sri Lanka are yet to announce their squad, but a list of 22 probable for the series has been sent for the approval of Sports Minister Harin Fernando. Meanwhile, Dimuth Karunratne has been retained as Captain for the series and he was also invited to attend the Selection Committee meeting which lasted for nearly three hours.
