Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan had a close shave death when a helicopter that had just dropped off the all-rounder and his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir in Cox’s Bazar crashed during its return journey to Dhaka.

The Bangladesh star flew to Tulip Sea Pearl Beach Resort, near Inani sea-beach for a television commercial shoot. After safely landing the all-rounder at his destination at 9:30 am, the helicopter took off with five passengers including the pilot. But they could not reach their destination safely as the chopper crashed near Inani sea-beach an hour after taking the flight. According to reports one person had died in the crash while four persons were injured.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh fans will be happy to hear that their star player is completely unharmed.

“I am fine, but feel rather shocked at the news of the chopper crash,” Shakib told Rabeed Imam, media manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

“But I can’t really tell you anything about the crash. I was at shooting at the time,” he added.

Well, one can say that the latest mishap is only going to tarnish the image of the country which is struggling to invite cricket teams to visit the country due to recent troubles in the country. Its upcoming series against England was in serious doubts after the terrorist attack in Dhaka on July 1 that led to 20 people being killed by Islamist militants. But after a lot of speculations, the English players agreed to go ahead with the tour.

One of the most important players of the Bangladesh team, Shakib will have to play a big role for his team in the upcoming series against England. The bilateral series will start with a three-match One-Day International series followed by a two Tests. The ODI series will start from October 7.
