Bangladesh Tri-Series 2019: Aminul Islam Doubtful To Play In Next Match
Bangladesh added three uncapped players before their third and fourth T20I match in the ongoing tri-series. Mohammad Naim, Aminul Islam, Nazmul Hossain joined the squad. But it can be sad news for Bangladesh team as Aminul Islam got injured while fielding.
The middle-order batsman and part-time leg spinner have proved to be beneficial for the team in the last match against Zimbabwe. He bowled 4 overs and picked 2 wickets giving 18 runs. As Bangladesh is finding a leg spinner, he can be the choice for the team.
While fielding against Zimbabwe Aminul Islam got injured his left hand and got three stitches. His place in next matches is in doubt. He explained how he got that injury during the match.
“Masakadza hit a ball straight and I tried to save it, but I couldn’t. It hit my hand. There was not a chance for a return catch, just fielding. I got three stitches. I feel a lot better now, the pain has reduced,” Aminul said.
I think my hand is better now – Aminul Islam
When asked if he was available for the upcoming game, the 19-year-old is also not sure. Aminul said that he will follow the order of his team.
“It’s difficult to say. I will have to listen what the team management and physio tell me, but I think my hand is better now.”
Aminul has played 19 first-class cricket and scored 515 runs as he is a part-time bowler who bowled in seven innings. He was selected in the squad of Bangladesh but his ability give him the place in final XI.
The selectors gave a chance to him in the field and Aminul didn’t disappoint the team. He didn’t get the chance to score runs but while bowling, he impressed skipper Shakib Al Hassan.
Bangladesh gave the target of 176 runs and easily halted Zimbabwe to chase the target. The visitor got all out at 136 runs and Bangladesh won by 39 runs.
The host has made their place in the final which will be played against Afghanistan on Tuesday (24th September) at Dhaka.
