ToggleOn Sunday, February 9th, Bangladesh U-19 created history as they defeated the favourites and the defending champions, India U19 in the ICC U-19 World Cup in South Africa. The young Bangladesh bowlers had set the game ablaze with the very beginning as they created pressure over the strong-looking India U19.
With the pressure already build up over the young Men in Blue, Bangladesh restricted Indian colts at 177. The bowler Tanzim Hasan and Shoriful Islam showed plenty of aggression throughout the game. While this act halted the two aggressive openers to keep the scoreboard ticking.
We’ve witnessed brain fade moments too during the finale. After Divyansh Saxena sent the ball back to Tanzim Hasan Sakib, the bowler deliberately threw the ball at Saxena who ducked to save himself. The incident was followed by continuous staring apart from exchanging heated words before the umpires intervened in the middle to pacify the situation.
Nevertheless, India struggled under the pressure as the ploy for Bangladesh bowlers worked. Only Yashasvi Jaiswal was able to show some grit with the bat. However, Jaiswal was taken down by Shoriful after scoring 88. And once again, Bangladesh bowlers displayed aggression as Shoriful gave Jaiswal an animated send-off.
However, this was just not it, the things got carried off post the winning knock played by the Bangladesh batsmen. The entire winning team came out to celebrate the historic moment as they defeated the four-time champions of the game. But the victory celebration was followed by a brawl that was, as per reports, initiated by the “pumped-up” Bangladesh players.
The Bangladesh U19 signs-off the U19 World Cup campaign with a ‘Classy’ gesture:

Nevertheless, the Bangladesh skipper Akbar Ali apologized for the “unfortunate act” of his teammates who, he said, were pumped-up in response to the previous face-offs between the two teams.
While the young captain of the winning team showed the maturity after the incident, the Bangladesh team ended their victory celebration by a “classy” gesture.
The team cleaned up the messed cricket ground and picked up the plastic bottles thrown by the spectators during the thrilling low-scoring final.
Thus, ICC had posted a video of the act on their official Twitter handle where the youngsters were seen clearing the letter from the ground.
ICC captioned the video as the “classy” act.
