Bangladesh Vs Australia 2017: We Have Been Consistent At Home – Mushfiqur Rahim

Bangladesh probably are headed for an absolute revolution in the Test arena now, after finally proving their mettle in the shorter forms. Barely ten months after defeating England for the first time in a Test, the Tigers now stunned the co founders of the game, Australia. Defeating Australia remains a big deal for any team, and for Bangladesh, the victory is bound to go down as a historic affair.
The Test had all the ingredients needed for a perfect thriller, as the margin of victory just remained at 20 runs. Even one more decent partnership would have done the trick for Australia, but it wasn’t to be as Bangladesh, backed by their ever loyal and crazy fans, were in the mood to dish out something special.
Post the victory, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim was all smiles and lauded his side for a phenomenal performance. “It’s a great feeling, credit to the boys especially to Shakib,” said Rahim. “He was brilliant. We have been consistent in home conditions. Against England also we beat them in the second game. Shakib and Taijul bowled really well. There is a lot of room to improve.”
“The lower order has got better. But in this match the wicket was very tough to bat. We got eight wickets, the fielders too chipped in. Hopefully, we will come hard in the next game as well. It was like snakes moving all around (on wicket keeping). Thanks to the crowd as well,” Rahim added.
Man of the Match Shakib Al Hasan too was ecstatic with his historic performance. “It feels great to contribute to the team,” said Shakib.
