Bangladesh vs South Africa: 3rd ODI MATCH PREVIEW- Asian Tigers to clash with African Lions
After white-washing Pakistan and dominating India in their home soil, Bangladesh are emerging as the new ‘giant killers’ as they defeated the mighty Proteas in the second ODI of the three match series which is tied 1-1. This victory came after three consecutive loses the home team suffered in the hands of the South Africans, in two T20s and the first ODI and now both the teams will be locking horns for the decisive 3rd ODI at Mirpur.
Bangladesh will be eyeing their third consecutive ODI series win on their home turf .In the last match, Bangladesh bowlers really bowled well, with the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain and Nasir Hossain simply making the opposition batsmen surrendering to themselves. The return of Rubel to their bowling attack acted as a boost as they were able to bundle the visitors for a cheap total of 162.
When put to bat, an emphatic knock from the young talented opener Soumya Sarkar and a well deserved half century from Mahmuhdullah helped Bangladesh to easily cruise to their target.
Talking of this match, Bangladesh will once again be relying on their bowling attack which rattled the powerful South African batting line up, consisting of batsmen like Hasim Amla, Faf du Plessis and JP Duminy in the last match. They have a very good combination of pace and spin which adds to their bowling versatility.
Bangladesh’s batting will be spearheaded by Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar, who is in a very fine form. They will be complemented by Mahmudullah, Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Nasir Hossain.
Speaking of the visitors, it is a prestige issue for the Proteas. They have enough fire power both in their batting and bowling to crush any opposition. Although they will be missing the services of players like AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn, they are still formidable enough.
They have experienced campaigners like Amla, de Kock, David Miller, Duminy, Du Plessis in the batting, who are considered to the finest in the ODI format. In their bowling, they have Chris Morris, Kyle Abbott and newbie Rabada, who struck a hat-trick on his very debut. On addition to that they have seasoned spinner like Imran Tahir. A team which boasts such names, will definitely aim to crush their opponents and stand victorious.
So its going to be a high voltage clash at Dhaka tomorrow(June 15), between two teams, both of them having something to prove.
