However, Virat Kohli is leading the chart for most Test centuries in the calendar year with four to his name in 2018. Meanwhile, Mominul equalled him by knocking a fantabulous ton against the Windies in the ongoing match at Chittagong.

Mominul Haque scored 100 off 135 balls:

Initially, it was Bangladesh, who won the toss and asked the visitors to roll their arms. Shakib Al Hasan has been back to lead the side as well. Windies got the initial breakthrough, who sent Soumya Sarkar back to the hut without troubling the scorers.

However, Imrul Kayes and Mominul Haque steadied things by adding a 104-run partnership for the second wicket before Imrul walked back with 44 runs to his name. Then, it was Mithun, who got the start but failed to carry on.

Despite the solid bowling display by the Windies, Mominul Haque has been exceptional, who just went with his strokes. The left-handed batsman played a breezy knock by scoring his century in 135 balls.

Meanwhile, both Bangladesh and the Windies didn’t have the best of buildups heading into the Tests. Bangladesh didn’t dominate Zimbabwe at home, whereas, India outdid the Windies across formats. However, in the first Test, the pendulum has been swinging over sessions.

Furthermore, with quite a few games ahead, it would be interesting to see who tops the list between Virat Kohli and Mominul Haque for this year. All in all, it is pleasing to see an Asian batsman marking the top slots in international cricket.
