Banned Indian cricketer S Sreesanth has revealed through a Facebook live interaction he is eyeing a return to cricket, by making himself available for the Scottish League next year.
Serving the lifetime ban imposed on him by the BCCI, the fast-bowler said he has got permission to play in the Scottish League next April and is hopeful for a turnaround in his fortunes.
Sreesanth responded to queries from fans and well-wishers during a Facebook live interaction through a regional media page, from the sets of his upcoming Malayalam, movie Team 5.
Apart from the revelation he made on his comeback, Sreesanth also talked about Kerala Blaster’s performance ahead of the play-offs in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL). He further said due to the existing ban on him, he was unable to make it to the audience block during his side’s match.
When asked about his relation with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh, he said both the senior players were like ‘Bhai’ to him and said MS always backed him during his formative years in the Indian team set-up.
The right-handed bowler represented India in 27 Tests, 53 One Dayers and 10 T20Is and bagged 170 International wickets. In the semi-final match against Australia in 2007 T20 World Cup, he took three wickets for just 12 runs, which helped India reach the final and eventually win it.
However, he was barred from entering the cricketing arena after he was found guilty of fixing a match during the sixth season of the IPL in 2013. Spinner Ajit Chandila and Ankit Sharma were also banned alongside him.
