He’s flashy, he’s better at showing off his new accessories, and he plays for India too. But then why people bash Hardik Pandya? For he being him? Or for being someone Pandya’s not, and imitate him terribly? Of late, he landed himself in hot waters for his ‘below the belt’ comments on the famous TV show, #KoffeewithKaran. He along with India opener KL Rahul was the guest; however, what unfolded afterward didn’t do too good to his reputation, both on and off the field.

But again, did he gain some repo while being on the field? Oh yes, he had hit some runs in the finale of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against Pakistan. Also, he hits the spinners very hard, more often, than compared to the fast bowlers. Okay, if that’s not enough, he had scored 93 in Cape Town in a Test; and has a five-for in Trent Bridge in an inning too. As of now, it more or less completes his contribution quota towards the India National Cricket Team since his debut.
‘Why always me’? – Hardik (Wondering)
It must be hard to be at the receiving end of the things regularly. Hardik knows it well though. One wondered thought behind him facing flakes all time could be his lack of performance. I mean, yes, why not. He’s a vital cog of the Indian cricket team; and the way he conducts himself on the field, regarding his performance entirely, has been far from convincing. Hardik Pandya can bat, he can bowl, he’s a brilliant outfielder, even throws well; but he cannot create an impact.
Digging into his numbers, Pandya’s batting average has dipped when compared across three formats. Though he averages above 31 in Tests, his limited-overs career seems to be struggling. In ODI’s, the right-hander averages 29.13, whereas, in T20I’s, it further drops down to 16.93. Coming to his bowling, Pandya doesn’t fare well over there too. In Tests, his average his 31.05, while in ODI’s and T20I’s, it reads 40.95 and 23.96, respectively.

Agree, his numbers didn’t change, but hey, his haircut did. Hardik Pandya’s hairstyle has been a story to read as well. From getting it colored to altering the styles, Pandya has been famous among the Paparazzi. After all, he’s young; he has done some hard work to be here, so why not!!
Also, as he had mentioned on #KoffeewithKaran about how he looks up to a girl; the manner which sounded and seemed so misogynistic and sexist. And it didn’t sit down well with the BCCI officials, who are nearing on the decision of banning the India all-rounder.

Hardik Pandya made a move to Mumbai from Baroda only after getting picked by the franchise in the IPL 2015. Hardik Pandya’s house in Mumbai has kept him close to the Wankhede stadium, where he gets to practice during the Indian Premier League. Though he is a star player in the team, Pandya’s domestic and IPL showing need some significant improvement too.
