4. Ricky Ponting – 4
Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has a successful Test career not only as a Test batsman but also as a captain. He has played 196 Test matches and collected over 13,000 runs. The 45-year-old also has 41 Test centuries, among them, he has scored four Test centuries in the fourth innings.
Ponting’s two out of four hundreds came against the Proteas and one each against the Englishmen and Bangladesh. His most memorable fourth innings’ hundred was registered in the 2005 Ashes series. It was a crucial knock by the then captain Ponting to keep the hopes of Australians alive in the series. And, he was successful in doing so.
