Adam Zampa’s six off the third last ball of the match and that too of Yasir Arafat’s bowling sealed the deal for Adelaide Strikers as they won their second match of the tournament against Perth Scorchers by one wicket.

Chasing a target of 147, Scorchers top-order made 10-15 crucial runs but none of them went on to score big. Brad Hodge, the most experienced T20 player of all time, scored the most for Strikers. Hodge hung in at one end as the wickets tumbled at the other end. Kieron Pollard was the only Striker who stood his ground for sometime with Hodge, but got out to Jason Behrendorff- who was the wrecker-in-chief for Perth Scorchers. He returned with the match figures of 4/22. With 8 runs to get from last over of Arafat, hitter Kane Richardson got run-out on the second ball, but Zampa kept his cool and won it for his team.

Earlier after winning the toss, Perth Scorchers started off well with their openers Michael Carberry and Marcus Harris putting 40 runs for the first wicket. As Harris got out, Carberry lost his tempo and he got out for 27 runs off 35 balls. Michael Klinger then played beautifully and his late resistance took Scorchers to the total of 147. Klinger top-scored with 49 runs. Kane Richardson was the best bowler for Strikers as he returned with the match figures of 3/31. Richardson was well supported by his captain Johan Botha, who gave away only 25 runs in his full-quota of overs, picking up the wicket of Harris.

Brief Scores: Perth Scorchers 146/7 (Klinger 49, Richardson 3/31) lost to Adelaide Strikers 147/9 (Hodge 42, Behrendorff 4/22) by 1 wicket
