BBL 06: Twitter Reacts As Brendon McCullum and Chris Lynn Help Brisbane Heat Thump Hobart Hurricanes
Dec 30, 2016 at 5:41 PM
Riding on brilliant half-centuries from Brendon McCullum and Chris Lynn, Brisbane Heat thrashed Hobart Hurricanes by 7 wickets to consolidate their position at the top of the Big Bash League table.
Chasing 174, Heat started poorly as Stuart Broad sent Jimmy Peirson back for only 1. But Heat skipper Brendon McCullum along with Chris Lynn completely took the game away from the visitors by adding 109 runs from only 53 balls. The partnership was ended when former New Zealand skipper failed to get elevation and handed an easy catch to Dan Christian at long-on. He was dismissed after scoring 72 from only 35 balls. Alex Ross followed McCullum to the pavilion soon but Lynn, who had scored 85 in the last match to help his team register a miraculous win, once again came good with the bat and remained unbeaten on 84 to take his team home.
Earlier, none of the Hurricane batsmen could convert their start into a substantial score as they huffed and puffed to 173 for 9.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the match:

So apparently Chris Lynn and Brendon McCullum batted alright in the @BBL. Just the casual 156 off 85 between them, serious hitting #savethem

Great BBL game at the Gabba. How come Chris Lynn isn't batting at six for Australia in Sydney Test? Wrong state of origin I guess.
