Perth Scorchers southpaw spinner Ashton Agar has been ruled out with for the remainder of the Big Bash League 2018-19 with a fractured finger. Agar suffered a blow to his finger and has been unfortunate to miss the entire season. Meanwhile, Ashton Agar could not find the place in Australia’s squad for the ongoing series against India.
Agar will undergo surgery to his right index finger. Meanwhile, the southpaw all-rounder sustained the injury to his finger while training for Perth Scorchers.
Agar was not picked for the India series.
Meanwhile, the two times champions Perth Scorchers are at the bottom of the points table. Scorchers are at the seventh place as they have thus far won only three matches out of the eight they have played in the season.
Thus, the Ashton Turner-led side hasn’t been able to deliver the goods in the ongoing Big Bash League edition. Meanwhile, the recovery time for Ashton Agar injury is not known.
“Ash Agar, unfortunately, suffered a fracture dislocation to his right index finger whilst fielding at training yesterday,” Scorchers sports medicine manager Nick Jones said.
“Ash sustained an intra-articular fracture that will require surgical repair. We expect that Ash will undergo surgery in the coming days, and as a result will be unavailable for the remainder of the BBL,” he added.
Ashton Agar will like to get back to action as soon as possible. He was part of the Australian side that had toured UAE for the ODI series against Pakistan. However, he could not grab his spot for the series against India.
