The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has assigned the former South African pacer Charl Langeveldt and former New Zealand left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori as the bowling coaches of the men’s national cricket team.

Charl Langeveldt, the 44-year-old, will be the fast bowling coach of Bangladesh national cricket team. He will take the place of Courtney Walsh, who was the previous fast-bowling coach of this Asian side. The South African has signed a two-year contract with the BCB for the new role.

On the other hand, the former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori will work with the Bangladesh spinners for only 100 working days. Vettori will play the spin-bowling coach role of this team,  which was played by Sunil Joshi previously. The former Kiwi spinner will be with this team during Bangladesh’s tour of India November 2019, ICC T20 World Cup 2020 etc. Vettori will also handle spin-bowling camps in Dhaka.

Earlier, the BCB hasn’t offered the previous bowling coaches for the contract extensions. Both Courtney Walsh and Sunil Joshi’s contracts ended after the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. In this tournament, Bangladesh finished in the eighth position after earning seven points. Bangladesh won three matches (one no result and five defeats) in that tournament.

BCB hasn’t chosen the head coach yet

Meanwhile, the BCB is still searching for the head coach. Their former head coach Steve Rhodes has also parted way with this side after the conclusion of the 2019 CWC. At present, Khaled Mahmud is the interim coach of this team.

According to the BCB, former Zimbabwe cricketer and former English head coach Andy Flower is one of the front-runners.

The BCB President Nazmul Hasan told ESPNcricinfo, “We spoke to some coaches, and Andy Flower is one of them. But nothing has been finalised. We are still talking to the coaches.”

On the other hand, Ryan Cook’s future as a fielding coach is doubtful.

The white-ball batting consultant Neil McKenzie has extended his contract with the BCB. As per the new-extended agreement, the former South African cricketer will stay with this side until the ICC T20 World Cup 2020.

The BCB has also renewed the contracts with the senior selectors Minhajul Abedin and Habibul Bashar.
