The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is believed to have earned a whopping profit of 25 crore Taka from the fourth edition of Bangladesh’s Premier League (BPL). As per the reports, the last season didn’t do that well comparing to the previous ones, but was enough to have fetch 44 crore Taka as an income in total.

On Monday, Afzalur Rahman Sinha, president of BPL governing council confirmed the information while speaking to Jamuna News.

Major highlight to be noted from the interview was that the board spent around 16 crore Taka on the event, and grossed a huge amount of profit out of it.

It has been learnt that despite the huge benefits, two participating teams Rangpur Riders and Barisal Bulls are yet to give their players the quota of their salary. However, Afzalur has informed the board isn’t worried about the due payments, as the bank has taken the responsibility for that.

If the franchises fail to pay the dues, then the BPL governing council would step forward to fix the debts from the bank, he confirmed.
