Shakib given NOC to play in CPL

Bangladesh cricket board on Tuesday issued a No Objection Certificate to all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and allowed him to play in the Caribbean Premier League which will kick off on June 29 at Port of Spain. Now, Shakib is all set to join Jamaica Tallawahs. He will leave for his CPL stint on June 26. Currently, Shakib is playing the Dhaka premier league for Abahani Limited. After completing his DPL commitments Shakib will proceed to play the CPL.  He will share the dressing room with the stalwart cricketer, Kumara Sangakkara who is also delighted to get back to Jamaica Tallawahs.

“We have given him the NOC to join CPL on the condition that he may be called back anytime as per the requirements of the national team,” said Bangladesh Cricket Board Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nizamuddin Chowdhury.

This will be his fourth season in CPL as the all-rounder made his debut in CPL for Barbados Tridents in 2013. He was quite successful in the tournament and earned heaps of praises with his figures of 6-6 in the debut season itself. Now all the eyes will again be on Shakib as his form will be keenly observed now.

The Jamaica Tallawahs also has players like Chris Gayle, Imad Wasim, Andre Russel in their roster. The Jamaica Tallawahs will take on the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Warner park on July 2 next month.
