Mustafizur Rahman has just been a sensation for the Bangla Tigers. Rahman, in the few games of his career, has become an overnight star and has found a great fan following. Rahman was the most vital cog behind Bangladesh’s historic ODI series triumphs over India and South Africa. Rahman has used the slow cutter really efficiently to deceive the batsmen and was literally unplayable up till a certain point.

It is due to this mystery aspect associated with his bowling that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is likely to prohibit him from participating in the inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL). As per a source within the BCB, Rahman is likely to be persuaded against playing in the upcoming PSL.

“Basically, we will take the observation of our physician before giving him the NOC,” BCB’s chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told media persons in Dhaka. “Mustafizur is a young prospect, so we don’t want to take any risk with him. We must consider his age and see whether he can take the load as there are other T20 assignments coming up after the PSL.”

However, the main reason behind denying Rahman the NOC has been that the left arm quick might expose himself to Pakistani batsmen and that might affect his effectiveness’ in the near future. With the World T20 in India just around the corner, the BCB also wants to ensure that Rahman remains fit and fresh for the all important event. Considering the recent form of the Bangla Tigers, they indeed could be the dark horses for the grand event in India.
