BCCI To Announce New Coach Of Team India Before End Of Champions Trophy 1

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce the new coach for Indian cricket team before the end of Champions Trophy, it is learnt. Earlier, there were reports that the new coach will be announced and will take over the reins immediately after the end of Champions Trophy but in the latest report, it has come to notice that BCCI is keen to announce the new before the end of the ICC tournament so as the new coach can acclimatise with the team before flying to West Indies for the limited overs series, just five days after Champions Trophy.

Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of BCCI will conduct the interview of the applicants next week and will ink on the name of the coach next week itself.

Virender Sehwag, Dodda Ganesh, Lalchand Rajput, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, Craig McDermott nd Anil Kumble himself are in the fray of becoming the next coach of Indian cricket team.

There was a news of a rift between Ani Kumble and Virat Kohli, which indicated that Kumble was reluctant to apply for the post but with skipper himself clarifying any new of rift between the two, Kumble has again applied for the post.

The former Test skipper took over as the coach of Indian cricket team on June 23 last year and going by the contract offered by BCCI – which last for one year – his stint will end on the same day this year.

Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag is a strong competitor in this race because of the fact that Virat Kohli has reportedly himself asked him to apply for the post. Though he has to reapply for the post because of showing a non-serious approach to this, as he submitted a resume of only two lines in his application.

India tour of West Indies later this month will be the first assignment for the new Head Coach of Indian cricket team.
