Putting an end to all the confusion regarding the dates and venues for the upcoming limited-overs series against Australia and New Zealand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, on Thursday (September 7), announced the dates and venues. Team India will start the upcoming home season with the five-match One-Day International series against Australia with the first game being scheduled to be played at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on September 17.
It will be followed by the second ODI at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on September 21 before the teams travel to Indore for the third game. The teams will then return to southern part of the country for the fourth ODI in Bangalore on the 28th while the final ODI will be held in Nagpur on October 1st.
The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I series against Steve Smith & Co. The games will be held in Ranchi, Guwahati and Hyderabad respectively, with the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati hosting its first international game. The matches will be played on October 7, 10 and 13.
The board has also finalised the venues for the series against New Zealand. The Black Caps will play three ODIs and as many Twenty20 Internationals. The ODIs will be hosted by Mumbai, Pune and Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association while the T20Is will be hosted by Delhi, Rajkot and Thiruvananthapuram. Initially, Cuttack was assigned one of the ODIs but it has now been shifted to Uttar Pradesh. The series will start on October 22 with the ODI in Mumbai and will conclude with the third T20I on November 7.
