The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule and the venue for the much-anticipated home season 2023-24. India will play a total of 16 International home games in the country during the season of 2023-24 and the schedule comprises five Test matches, three One-Day Internationals, and eight Twenty20 Internationals.

At the start of the season, India will be up against the mighty Australian team for a three-match ODI series at the end of September 2023, where both teams will battle hard to prepare for the ODI World Cup in India. The three-match ODI series will act as a good preparation for the Indian team against high-quality Australia on home soil, as it will help them to adapt and assess conditions in the country ahead of the mega event in the country.

India will prepare to win the Championship on home soil as the last time the coveted trophy was played in Asia, India had won the tournament by defeating Sri Lanka in the final at Mumbai in 2011. The Men in Blue have recently failed to do well in ICC competitions, including their failure in the 2023 WTC final, and have not won a global tournament since winning the 2013 Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni’s captaincy.

Following the completion of the 50-over World Cup, India will play a five-match T20 series starting on November 23 in Vizag. India would try to play a few new players in the high-octane T20 series against Australia to test themselves ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup and In the 2024 season, India will begin their campaign against Afghanistan for the maiden bilateral series for three-match T20I series.
