BCCI Announces Timings For The IPL 2019 Playoffs, Final And Women’s T20 Challenge
On Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has advanced the IPL 2019 Playoffs’ timings of the Indian Premier League 2019. The playoff matches in the night will commence half-an-hour before to the regular timings of the night matches.
Meanwhile, they also officially confirmed that the qualifier 1 will be played at Chennai. It will be followed by the Eliminator on May 8th at Visakhapatnam. Further, the Qualifier 2 will also take place in the Visakhapatnam stadium while Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium will host the final of the IPL 2019.
The BCCI also confirmed the time and dates for the Women’s T20 Challenge, which will see three teams – Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity – taking part.
The games will be held from May 6 to May 11 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, in Jaipur. While the matches scheduled on May 6, 9 and 11 May will start at 7:30 pm IST, the second game, scheduled on May 8 will commence at 3:30 pm IST.
And also, finals will be played at Hyderabad:
The change in timings isn’t a new scenario in the history of the tournament. Last year as well, the timings for the playoffs and final had been advanced to 7:00 pm due to similar reasons. The move has been taken place to avoid the late-night return journeys for the audience.
The two teams that finish on the top of the points table will play the qualifier 1 while a remaining couple of teams, who are placed third and fourth in the table will play Eliminator – 1. The loser of the Qualifier 1 and the winner of Eliminator-1 will play Qualifier – 2 to take the position in the final alongside the winner of the Qualifier – 1.
