On the eve of the new year, 2016 Board of Control for Cricket in India as announced Virat Kohli’s name for a player of the for 2014-2015 calendar year while Indian Women team captain Mithali Raj has been announced the best player of the award.
Test captain Virat Kohli has won the Polly Umrigar Award, which is given to the best player of the year. Indian Test team under his captaincy defeated Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and South Africa at home.
Meanwhile, former Indian wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani has been announced for CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.
Jalaj Saxena of Madhya Pradesh has been named as the best allrounder as he got Lala Amarnath Award for the best all-rounder in the 2014-2015 season for his performance in Test cricket. At the same time, Deepak Hooda of Baroda has won the best all-rounder award for his performance in limited over cricket.
Karnataka’s Robin Uthappa has won Madhavrao Scindia Award highest scorer in the Ranji Trophy in 2014-15. Karnataka captain R Vinay Kumar won the Madhavrao Scindia Award for his most wicket haul in Ranji Trophy. In limited over cricket, the award goes to Shardul Thakur of Mumbai.
Meanwhile, in the age group categories, Almas Shaukat of Uttar Pradesh has won M AChidambaram Trophy.
