The Board of Control for Cricket in India has told Wriddhiman Saha to skip Bengal’s Ranji Trophy match against Delhi. The Indian board has done so to keep Saha fit for the upcoming tour of New Zealand. Saha has missed most of Bengal’s Ranji Trophy matches due to a finger injury. However, the talisman keeper has recovered and he is ready to make a comeback.
The experienced keeper sustained an injury to his ring finger in the historic Pink-ball Test match against Bangladesh. Thus, he had to undergo surgery in Mumbai. Bengal’s coach Arun Lal confirmed that Saha has been advised to take rest and keep himself injury-free ahead of the crucial tour.

Saha is going to hold the key.
“Wriddhi will not be available for Delhi match (at Eden Gardens from Sunday). I think the Board (BCCI) has said no to him,” Bengal coach Arun Lal said after the win against Hyderabad a day ago.
“It’s great to have him but it will not make any difference. In any case, we have got a winning side. It’s okay it would have been for just one game,” he added.

Wriddhimann Saha is currently going rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. India will play two Test matches on the New Zealand tour and Saha is going to be first-choice wicketkeeper-batsman. The visitors will also play five T20Is and three ODIs against the Kiwis.
The first T20I will take place in Auckland on 24th January.
