Even before the Supreme Court took the decision to defer the matter on Rajasthan Cricket Association election results, BCCI sconceded Lalit Modi was a clear winner.

BCCI said Modi had won 26 out of 33 votes but were won the arguments in the SC with loud protesting barbs at Modi as court defered the hearing to March 4.

BCCI countered that Modi cannot contest election as he is already facing life ban for alleged irregularities of upto 80 million dollars in IPL.

The Supreme Court was set to open the sealed envelope to declare the results but deferred it to March 4 given the loud protests about Modi’s eligibility to contest RCA elections.

BCCI said that if Modi, who is banned for life, gets elected as RCA President then the board would have no option but to suspend RCA association.

BCCI also said that if RCA gets suspended then the two players from Rajasthan in Indian team would immediately be dropped out of the team.

According to the media reports, BCCI president N Srinivasan and Modi traded personal charges during the SC hearing.
