Rumour was surfaced on Thursday evening that Harbhajan Singh has enrolled his name for the league ” The Hundred”. But all such reports and rumours were denied by the BCCI. It is to be noticed that Harbhajan has not announced the retirement from international cricket and plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL.

The hundred is the 100-ball cricket tournament which England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is set to begin in next year. The BCCI official confirmed to Times of India that Harbhajan has not officially enrolled his name for the league. If he does so he should first take permission with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), according to the policy.

“Harbhajan has never sought a No Objection Certificate from the BCCI. He can’t just enrol his name in any league. It’s against the BCCI’s policy. The board has checked with him after the report surfaced and he has categorically denied any such development,” a top BCCI official told Times of India on Thursday.

“Harbhajan is a seasoned campaigner. He won’t take such a drastic step without checking with the board. If he has plans, he will let the board know,” the official added.

Harbhajan Singh, the veteran off-spinner of the Indian national cricket team, plays in Indian Premier League (IPL). According to BCCI Policy, no Indian Men’s player can participate in foreign league if he has not announced the retirement from international cricket.

After announcing the retirement from international cricket, including IPL, Yuvraj Singh was given the NOC to play in the Global League T20 in Canada.

Harbhajan Singh, who made his debut in the Indian team in 1998, has last played for the Indian Team in 2016. The spinner has played 103 Test matches and picked 417 wickets. He has played 236 ODIs and picked 269 Wickets.

The earlier report says Harbhajan has shown keenness to play “The Hundred” tournament which will start from July next year.
