BCCI Clears Professional Fees for ICC Champions Trophy 1

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cleared the payments of Indian players for June, which included the match fees for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 as well.

A total of 10 players were paid match fees for ICC Champions Trophy. Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni fetched maximum salaries which amounted to Rs 28,46,250 each while skipper Virat Kohli got paid an amount of Rs 28,35,000. Rohit Sharma too was paid the same amount.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja credited Rs 28,23,750 each, whereas, Shikhar Dhawan, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah got an amount of Rs 28,12,500.

The remaining five members of the Indian squad for ICC Champions Trophy would have also received their amounts but have not been mentioned in the list provided by BCCI, as the amounts may be less than Rs 25 Lakhs. BCCI only makes public the expenditures amounting more than Rs 25 Lakhs.

The board also paid an amount of Rs 40,50,000 to seven players as a Taxfree portion of 90% of retainership fees for April to June 2017. Cheteshwar Pujara, who received this amount, was one of the two players to get a Taxfree portion of 90% of retainership fees for July to September 2017 which was Rs 27,29,348.

Murali Vijay, who received an amount of Rs 40,50,000 twice, was the second player to earn this amount from July to September.

BCCI also paid an amount of Rs 42,12,000 to Shanker Basu – team India’s fitness trainer – as his professional fees for June to September.

Meanwhile, BCCI also cleared the dues of former Indian cricketers Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan. While Nehra was paid the amount for the games he missed in IPL 2011, Zaheer was paid the amount for the games he missed during the Champions League 2011.

Yuvraj Singh was also paid two amounts for the loss which he suffered by missing games of IPL 2016 and 2017.
