The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary has come up with a significant move while proposing the increment in the salary of cricketers which include the Test players and eventually the women’s cricketers.
As it is seen as the watershed moment for women cricket in a nutshell – to fetch hike in salary alongside senior men’s players, who fail to bring the fat deals of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL).
The women cricketers, who have had earned praise after reaching to the grand-finale of the recently concluded ICC Women’s World Cup, as their performances have had left an overall impact in the national fold after returning from the United Kingdom in July, this year.
Pertinently, the proposal will be evaluated by the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) which will bring a lot to the table if the overseeing committee would pass the proposal from the administrator.
However, the demand for an increase in the salary is in the pipeline, as BCCI management is further eyeing to raise the bar of the cricket particularly for the women competition which has had witnessed a lot of improvement owing to the fighting spirit.
As the move is bound to benefit the senior campaigners and India Eves, the restructuring would further work wonders in the domestic set-up, as the fiscal shake-up would include the players, who are participating in the premium domestic competitions which include the Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy.

So much so, the players would receive the match fee of INR 25,000 instead of INR 10,000, if the fresh proposal would be approved by the CoA which has been established by the Apex court – to prepare the status report by Lodha Panel Recommendations.
On the other side, the Women players are supposed to fetch 12,500 per game after concurrently agreeing over INR 3,500 as a per day payment policy.
The fresh proposed formation include Three Divisions, as the women players in the Grade A category are supposed to receive INR 50 lakh followed by INR 30 lakh in Grade B and 15 lakh for the Grade C category which is subjected to clarification from CoA.
The concurrent plan is that the two categories are drawing INR 15 lakh and INR 10 lakh respectively in the women cricket.
Seen as a remarkable move from the BCCI, the former explosive batsman Virender Sehwag has already reiterated that women’s should also experience a tournament like IPL which will help the Indian Eves in the near future.
On the other side, the die-hard fans voiced their opinion by saying the women cricketers must be provided with enhanced facilities, as the former players also urged for the increment in the salary of the players.
