After seeking help from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, wife of Team India pacer Mohammed Shami, Hasin Jahan has sought help from the Board of Control for Cricket in India 9BCCI) to solve the legal problem with his her husband Mohammed Shami. Acting BCCI President CK Khanna has refused to seek into their personal matter.
“Hasin Jahan met me with a request that BCCI should look into the matter. I told her that it was their personal affair which should be settled within the family. It would be the interest of all, including Shami because he is in the Indian team and we would like him to perform well in the IPL and forthcoming England series,” Khanna was quoted as ANI.
“She requested me that I should try to put some personal pressure on him. I told her that it would not be possible for me as BCCI cannot intervene in such affairs and she has to seek the help of her family,” he further added.
Shami has been given a clean chit by BCCI on the inquiry conducted on the match-fixing probe by the Anti Corruption Unit (ACU). Jahan has accused Shaami of several charges including mental torture. Kolkata Police has even gone to his home to collect important information on this saga. Jahan had earlier said, “Shami is just trying to gain sympathy from media. He does not care about me and our daughter. I am living in a small guest house here but he had not contacted me even once to meet his daughter.”
The Shami-Hasin saga has been going on for a long time now. The Indian pacer was charged under several bailable and non-bailable clauses. However, he has denied all the charges and hopes to get cleared under all charges.
