BCCI Pay Out RS 44 Lakhs As Taxes Post GST

BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world. BCCI has the responsibility to control cricket in a cricket frenzy country India. BCCI earns great revenues through IPL and from so many bilateral series the country hosts. BCCI has the highest percentage of share in ICC’s revenue with 23%.

With the recent GST being introduced by the central government, the BCCI paid taxes over 44 lakhs. The official website of BCCI states that it paid Rs. 44, 29,516 in GST. This GST has also helped the staff and the players to earn higher incomes. Team India’s physio Patrick Farhat was paid Rs 58,87,139 for a five month period.

The player also benefited from the tax reform in the country as the BCCI paid some share from of the gross revenue from international matches from 2016/17 season. Stuart Binny was paid Rs Rs. 92 Lakhs(Rs 92, 46,412).

Harbhajan Singh was also paid Rs 62, 52, 871 whereas; Axar Patel was paid Rs. 37.51 Lakhs. Umesh Yadav also got richer by Rs. 34.79 Lakhs.

Indian cricketers are known to be the richest sportsperson in the country. Even after retiring Sachin Tendulkar is still the richest cricketer in India. He has a net worth of Rs. 1066 crores.

However, the BCCI announced a 16 member squad for the first three ODI’s against Australia to begin on 17th September.

The squad: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami.
