Upset and shocked with the result of the second T20I between India and West Indies, the BCCI has now decided to quiz the matter as the match was delayed by a period of 40 minutes due to the unavoidable technical problems. This unavoidable problem cost Indian team the match as rain arrived there in Florida thus washing out the game.
If the match was started on time, then the washout would not have happened as both the teams had ample time to complete the mandatory overs and realising the condition of the game, it is safe to say that Indian team were the sure winners of the game.
So, in short, it can be said that the 40-minute technical delay was the reason behind India’s loss in the second T20I. The BCCI has taken the matter into consideration and is now all set to investigate the washout.
“It is a practice in the BCCI that every match gets reviewed. In the IPL every single game is revisited and this issue will be looked into as well. We will insist on de-briefing from everyone concerned,” said a member in the position of authority.
However, the BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke, when asked regarding this, blamed the rain for the loss as he said
“We knew the importance of this match for India. You can’t blame us for rain,”
There was no clarity in his answer as he did not comment anything on the 40 minutes delay and blamed the rain for the loss.
