The BCCI has made a lot of change in its administration in the recent times. But Ravi Shastri, who was given the responsibility as the head Indian Coach in between the Test series in England, has retained his role.
Along with him, the coaches in all three departments have kept their place after the overhaul in administration. The bowling coach B Arun and the fielding coach R Sridhar were already assured of their positions for the long term before they left for the tour in Bangladesh.
However, the batting coach Sanjay Bangar, was not given any assurances of his role after the tour. Shastri who was monumental in giving the post to Sanjay in the first place, is understood to have stood by him. The fact that Shastri does not want a change in his group of colleagues shows that he wants Indian cricket to run smoothly and that he will not allow the administration board or any other body be involved in the affairs of the national team.
Amre, Rajput and Raman are all expected to take up positions as a coach in the National cricket academy at Bangalore. It was understood that the BCCI was considering replacing Bangar after a negative feedback by a couple of batsmen.
Praveen Amre looked like the man who would replace Sanjay Bangar in the post. But the names of Lalchand Rajput and WV Raman were also heard.
But espncricinfo, a website, reported that the BCCI has made a decision to go along with Sanjay and not to replace him. The website also reported that the extent of the offer, the compensation provided and other matters will be discussed after the team returns to India on 25th of June after the end of the tour.
