England batsman Ben Duckett was trolled by the die-hard fans of Virat Kohli by terming the latter a joke’ while responding to a question on the micro-blogging website Twitter.
The incident happened on March 8 (Saturday) when a page; Cricket Shouts dedicated to cricket posted a tweeted while asking its fans to describe batting giant Kohli by filling the blanks with suitable words.
In between, English cricketer known for wit saw Duckett referring Kohli as a joke and which didn’t sit well with Indian fans.
In the Ranchi ODI, Kohli has slammed 95-ball 123 with the help of 16 fours and a six. With this master-class knock, Kohli went on to slam his 41st ODI hundred. He as eight centuries away to sit at par with legendary Tendulkar, who has 49 tons to his name in 463 matches.
Recently, was the part of England ‘A’ squad for India tour. The fans from India has trolled Duckett for his recent comment on the world’s top-notch batsman.
In two first-class matches, Duckett amassed 175 runs in four innings following a mixed outing in the List A fixtures.

In 2016, the 24-year-old left-handed batsman Duckett made his Test debut against Bangladesh. He failed to leave much of an impact with the bat. Although, his progress in the domestic fold has been commendable on English point of view
As Duckett has drawn the ire for his tongue-in-cheek comment, many are of the view he has commented in a positive way. Meanwhile, Kohli’s enjoying his merry-run by achieving staggering numbers.
Since 2018, the 30-year-old Kohli has recorded a staggering average of close to a hundred. Well, following the back-to-back hundreds in Nagpur and Ranchi respectively, Kohli has achieved his career-best batting average of 60.09 while playing his 217th innings of 225 ODI.
Coming back to Duckett, the wicketkeeper-batsman has also played three ODIs for England to amass 123 at an average of 41.
In four Tests, Duckett scored 110 runs spread over seven innings with his unhealthy average reading 15.71. However, he has a solitary fifty to his name, too.
The promising batsman Duckett was sidelined from the Three Lions’ Squad following his Test fixture against India at Visakhapatnam in November 2016.
