The suspended English duo of Ben Stokes and Alex Hales could be named in the provisional ODI squad for the series against Australia which will be held after the conclusion of the ongoing Ashes series. As per reports in the British Newspaper, The Daily Mail Stokes and Hales could be provisionally included in the England ODI squad which is expected to be announced later in the week.
The England Cricket Broad has suspended stokes and Hales for an indefinite time after the duo was involved in a street fight outside a nightclub in Bristol. The incident happened in late September, but the duo is still awaiting the investigation reports. Earlier there were talks that Stokes might be part of the Ashes series which seems very bleak as of now.
Meanwhile, the UK Police have finalised their investigation with prosecutors and are now in the process of deciding whether to charge the star English all-rounder. As per reports in the Daily Mail, if there are no decisions from the prosecutors then the duo is expected to be named in the provisional England squad for the five-match ODI series scheduled to start on January 14. “England is currently minded to include both men,” the report stated.

The ban imposed on Hales and Stokes applies for England matches only, and that was the reason why Stokes returned to competitive cricket by playing a match in New Zealand last Sunday. The swashbuckling all-rounder played a New Zealand domestic One-dayer for Canterbury and is expected to be part of the team for another game in Auckland on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the England higher authorities have stated that they will reassess the condition and take a decision depending on whether the prosecutor says the English duo will be charged or not.
Meanwhile, England is definitely missing the services of Stokes in the Test series where they are trailing 0-1 and face the prospect of going down 0-2 after a horrendous start to the 2nd Pink-Ball Test in the Adelaide Oval.
