Ben Stokes performed incredibly during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and Ashes 2019
In 2019, England created history by winning their first-ever ICC Cricket World Cup as Eoin Morgan-led England cricket team won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The all-rounder Ben Stokes played a very crucial role for the England team in that tournament, including the final against New Zealand.

While the final had the tie result even after the Super Over as England won that final on the boundary countback rule, Stokes won the Player of the Match award in that trophy decider game. When England was struggling in that final game, Stokes played the crucial match-saving 84 not out off 98 balls. Also, he batted in the crucial Super Over of that game.
In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, the left-handed middle-order batsman Stokes scored 465 runs (average 66.42) and also the right-arm pacer picked up seven wickets.
Ben Stokes also played a crucial role for England to draw the Ashes 2019. While that five-match Test series had the 2-2 result, Stokes was awarded Player of the Series along with Australian cricketer Steven Smith (Compton–Miller Medal). At the end of that tournament, Stokes was the second most run-scorer (441 runs) and also took eight wickets.

On the other hand, Australia Women’s star all-rounder Ellyse Perry won the Wisden Leading Woman Cricketer in the World in 2019. It was the second time when Perry has been awarded Wisden Leading Woman Cricketer in the World (she won it for the first time in 2016). She became the first player to win Wisden Leading Woman Cricketer in the World for twice.
