Bengal cricket received a big blow on Sunday as Manoj Tiwari, the skipper has been ruled out of the whole Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 cricket championship after MRI report revealed Tiwari has torn his muscle. On the same day, Bengal had to lose its crucial match against Tamil Nadu by 82 runs. And in a desperate move Bengal, team management is trying to play Mohammed Shami in its concluding group league match against Himachal Pradesh.
Shami who was instructed initially to be in Nagpur with Bengal team for the team’s two matches before flying with the Indian squad for Australia has also been uncertain as he might have to attend National Cricket Academy for a day before leaving for Australia.
Bengal team management has already sent Amit Kuilya, the promising quick bowler as a replacement of Shami, but now, after Bengal’s defeat against Tamil Nadu, the team management looks desperate to play Sami in the team’s second crucial tie. Ashoke Dinda who is the captain in place of Tiwari said over phone on Sunday, “We are in deep trouble after Sunday’s defeat. Now, our aim should only be to recover from Himachal Pradesh match.” Abhimanyu Eiswaran has replaced injured Manoj Tiwari
