176 vs England at the Oval, 2013
Shane Watson had come to the team replacing rising Australian star Usman Khawaja. Watson didn’t disappoint. He scored 176 off 339 balls with 25 fours and sixes. When he walked into the ground Australian dressing room was shivering as they lost 1 wicket for 11 runs. James Anderson and Stuart Broad were not letting Australia settle down at the wet Oval pitch. But Watson with a hunger in his belly built a 107 runs partnership with opener Chris Rogers. Even Watson was injured by Stuart Broad who was constantly hurling bouncer at Watson. A rising ball hit hard at the neck of Watson when he was batting on 91 but that didn’t break his concentration to play a good innings for Australia.
