Steve Smith has looked a different player after his return from a ball-tampering ban. Smith scored 965 runs in 13 innings in 2019 with an average of 74.23. Smith’s highest score this year was 211. He scored four half-centuries and three centuries this year. Smith looked solid on both sides of the wicket and looked technically strong on fast wickets.
Smith possesses tremendous bat speed which helps him time the ball crisply. Smith looked elegant while playing the drives and showed some fine wrist work on the leg side. Smith is a bit unorthodox on the leg side, which makes it difficult for the bowlers to bowl to him.
