Quinton de Kock was looked the most consistent performer for South Africa in 2019. The 27-year old’s defence looked solid on fast wickets as he showed fine footwork on both sides of the wicket. The left-hander can play offensively as well as defensively as per the situations and can rotate the strike intelligently. De Kock has shown fine balance and footwork while facing the spinners and looked strong while pulling the ball.
The wicket-keeper batsman looked elegant while placing the ball in the gaps with his effortless drives and destructive square cuts. De Kock can accelerate when needed and can be a very handy batsman lower down the order in tests. De Kock scored 713 runs in 15 Innings in 2019 with an average of 47.53. His highest score in 2019 was 129. The left-hander has scored two centuries and five half-centuries this year.
